News
Maumee Teacher Heads to C-SPAN
Jamie Naragon, a social studies teacher at Maumee High School, is one of five educators nationwide selected for C-SPAN's 2026 Teacher Fellowship. She'll spend late June and July developing classroom resources on criminal justice, sociology, and civics for teachers across the country.
The fellowship comes with a $1,500 stipend and recognizes her creative use of C-SPAN programming in the classroom. Not a bad summer gig for a local educator making waves beyond Toledo.

Where Soccer Fans Find Home
Every weekend morning, The Full 90 Pub at the Switchboard becomes Toledo's gathering place for soccer lovers. Since 2016, it's brought together expats, diehards, and curious newcomers over early kickoffs and Guinness pours—the only spot in town serving them before noon.
It's a rare thing: a place where rival fans sit side by side, united by love of the game. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, it'll be our home base for every match.
City Updates
New Rules for Riverfront Fireworks
Toledo's July Fourth celebration is getting a safety upgrade this year. Anyone under 18 will need to be with an adult during the 12-hour event window at the downtown riverfront, where over 100,000 people are expected. Police presence is doubling, masks are banned, and coolers won't be allowed inside the zone.
Mayor Kapszukiewicz is clear about the goal: keeping it a family celebration after last year's incidents. Know the rules before you head down.
