Perrysburg Restaurant Recommendation: Odd Fodder

Located on North Dixie Highway in Perrysburg, Odd Fodder is a locally owned restaurant known for crispy fried chicken, creative comfort food, house-made sauces, and over-the-top milkshakes.

The chicken is hand-breaded fresh in-house and served in everything from sandwiches and wraps to chicken and waffles and loaded mac and cheese. The menu also features bold creations like the Monsterella, which combines a crispy chicken sandwich with mozzarella sticks, marinara, and ranch.

Odd Fodder’s milkshakes are just as memorable, with fun, oversized presentations designed to be part dessert and part experience. With a casual atmosphere, kid-friendly menu, catering options, and plenty of indulgent choices, it’s a great Perrysburg stop when you’re craving something a little different.

Maumee

Coed Indoor Volleyball Tournament

The Toledo Volleyball Club is bringing local players together for a coed four-on-four indoor volleyball tournament on Saturday, July 25, beginning at 4 p.m.

Teams must have at least one woman on the court at all times, creating a competitive but welcoming format for players looking to spend the afternoon on the court. Team registration is listed at $120.

Beyond the competition, the tournament will also support the Toledo Volleyball Club’s new boys volleyball program, giving participants a chance to enjoy a fun local event while helping expand opportunities for young athletes in the area.

Whether you are putting together a team or stopping by to support the players, the tournament offers another active way to spend the weekend in Maumee.

5th Annual Lean on Me Sis Empowerment Brunch

The Lean on Me Foundation will host its 5th Annual Lean on Me Sis Empowerment Brunch on Sunday, July 26, beginning at 12:30 p.m. at Heather Downs Country Club.

The annual gathering is designed to bring women together for an afternoon of encouragement, connection, and personal reflection. This year’s event will focus on helping attendees reconnect with their goals, rediscover their dreams, and create a clearer vision for the future.

Along with brunch, guests can expect an uplifting atmosphere centered on empowerment, meaningful conversations, and building supportive relationships with other women in the community.

Located just outside Maumee, the event offers a nearby Sunday outing for anyone looking to recharge, connect with others, and begin the week feeling inspired.

Maumee Restaurant Recommendation: The Village Idiot

Located in Uptown Maumee, The Village Idiot has become one of the area’s best-known destinations for pizza, live music, and a lively neighborhood atmosphere.

The local favorite is known for its award-winning pizza, selection of craft beer and spirits, and live performances every day of the year. The venue regularly features both local musicians and touring acts, making each visit feel a little different depending on who is taking the stage.
