Sylvania Restaurant Recommendation: Borderline Grill
Located in Mayberry Square, Borderline Grill brings a little bit of Ohio and Michigan together under one roof. The chef-owned restaurant features historical artwork from both states, giving the dining room a local personality that perfectly matches its name.
The menu focuses on scratch-made American food with a few creative twists. Borderline Grill is especially known for its signature Smash Burger, made with two fresh beef patties, bacon, American cheese, pickles, onions and house burger sauce on a brioche bun. Other standout options include the prime rib cheese steak, croque monsieur, grilled walleye piccata and poutine topped with house-made gravy, Michigan cheese curds and bacon.
Even the fries and fried dishes receive some extra attention, as the restaurant uses beef tallow instead of traditional fryer oil. Pair your meal with one of its handcrafted cocktails, especially the house margarita, or choose from its selection of craft beer.
With a kids’ menu, game tray, happy hour and a relaxed atmosphere, Borderline Grill works just as well for a family dinner as it does for lunch with friends or a casual date night. It is another locally owned Sylvania restaurant worth adding to your list.
Borderline Grill is located at 5680 Mayberry Square East and is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Beer Yoga at Swig
Start your Saturday with a little stretching, sipping and socializing at Beer Yoga at Swig in downtown Perrysburg.
This one-hour session combines a relaxed yoga class with one of Swig’s drinks, creating a fun and approachable experience for both yoga regulars and beginners. Your first drink is included with admission, and attendees can stick around afterward for discounted drinks and special menu options.
Beer Yoga begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, at Swig Restaurant, located at 219 Louisiana Avenue. Tickets are approximately $18, and space is limited, so advance registration is recommended.

Perrysburg Restaurant Recommendation: Rosaria’s on 3rd Street
Tucked just off the main stretch of downtown Perrysburg, Rosaria’s on 3rd Street offers an elevated dining experience centered around coastal Italian cuisine, fresh seafood and deep Sicilian roots.
The restaurant is the sister location of Rosie’s Italian Grille, but Rosaria’s has developed an identity of its own with a modern dining room, handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine selection. The menu features Italian favorites alongside seafood-focused dishes, house-made pastas and shareable appetizers.
Guests can begin their meal with options such as arancini, baked oysters, grilled lamb chops or the restaurant’s Hot Mama Bread. Rosaria’s also offers pizzas, seafood, pasta dishes and house-made desserts including tiramisu, cannoli and crème brûlée.
The atmosphere makes it a strong choice for a date night, special occasion or dinner with friends. Guests looking for a more casual visit can stop by the bar for daily happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m., featuring discounts on wine, draft beer, cocktails and select appetizers.
Rosaria’s also serves brunch every Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with cocktails such as mimosas and its signature Third Street Bloody Mary.
Rosaria’s on 3rd Street is located at 135 W. Third Street in Perrysburg and is open seven days a week.
Maumee
Painting With Dianca
Unwind with an evening of painting, sipping and good vibes at Painting With Dianca in Maumee.
This beginner-friendly paint-and-sip experience is inspired by the relaxing landscapes made famous by Bob Ross. With guidance from an in-person instructor, guests will create their own peaceful scene complete with colorful skies, scenic landscapes and, of course, a few happy little trees.
No painting experience is required, and all art supplies are included. Attendees are also encouraged to bring their favorite drink and enjoy a laid-back night of creativity with friends or come alone and meet some new people.
Painting With Dianca takes place Saturday, August 8, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at 314 Illinois Avenue in Maumee. Admission is listed at $15, although online ticket pricing may include additional fees. Space is limited, so advance registration is recommended.
It is a fun option for a casual date night, girls’ night or anyone looking to try something creative this weekend.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day at the Maumee Indoor Theater
Catch the latest adventure from one of Marvel’s most popular superheroes without paying the usual movie-theater prices.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently playing at the historic Maumee Indoor Theater in Uptown Maumee. The PG-13 movie has a runtime of approximately two hours and 25 minutes, making it an affordable option for a family outing, casual date night or afternoon escape from the summer heat.
Showings are scheduled for Wednesday, August 5, at 10 a.m., 1:15 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m., with additional screenings in the theater’s second auditorium at 2 p.m., 5:15 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. On Thursday, August 6, showtimes are available at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 4:15 p.m., 5:15 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
Regular tickets cost $5 for showings before 4 p.m. and $7 for evening screenings. Wednesday tickets are even cheaper, with matinees priced at $3.50 and evening showings at $5.50.
The Maumee Indoor Theater is located at 601 Conant Street in Uptown Maumee.
Maumee Restaurant Recommendation: Roosters
Wing lovers now have another place to catch a game, grab a cold drink and enjoy a casual meal with friends or family.
Roosters’ newer Maumee-area location serves the brand’s signature “humongous” wings alongside a large menu of burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, subs, salads and shareable appetizers. Guests can choose between traditional and boneless wings before pairing them with one of Roosters’ many sauces and seasonings.
Beyond the wings, popular options include the Red, Bacon and Blue Salad, loaded nachos, fried pickles and a variety of grilled dishes. The broad menu makes Roosters an easy choice for groups where everyone may be craving something different.
The restaurant features two levels, more than 50 tables, a large bar and numerous televisions throughout the dining room. With room for nearly 300 guests, it is particularly well suited for watching football, baseball or other major sporting events.
The relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere also makes it a solid option for a casual lunch, weeknight dinner or gathering with a larger group. Carryout and online ordering are available for anyone who would rather enjoy their wings at home.
Roosters is located at 6040 Knights Inn Place in Maumee and is open daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Wood County Fair
The Wood County Fair is wrapping up its 2026 run this weekend with carnival rides, fair food, livestock shows, agricultural exhibits and entertainment for the entire family.
Held annually at the Wood County Fairgrounds in Bowling Green, the fair celebrates the area’s agricultural roots while bringing together families, local organizations, businesses and 4-H participants from across Wood County. Visitors can walk through the livestock barns, explore home and garden displays, check out fine arts exhibits and enjoy plenty of classic fair food.
Friday is expected to be one of the biggest nights of the week, featuring a rodeo followed by fireworks. The weekend schedule also includes horse events, Junior Fair competitions and the Buchman Showmanship Sweepstakes on Saturday evening.
The fair runs through Sunday, August 9. Daily admission is $8, while children age 9 and younger are admitted free. Some rides and grandstand events may require an additional ticket or wristband.
The Wood County Fairgrounds are located at 13800 W. Poe Road in Bowling Green.
Bowling Green Restaurant Recommendation: Roi Et
Bowling Green has a new destination for authentic Thai food with the opening of Roi Et Thai Cuisine and Eatery.
Located in the Greenwood Centre, Roi Et is a family-owned restaurant led by mother-and-daughter team Toi Suwannethada and Natnicha “U-sa” Vayavong. The family brings more than 20 years of restaurant experience to Bowling Green, having previously operated Bangkok Café and Roi Et in Northwood.
The menu features a wide selection of Thai favorites, including Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, fried rice, curries, soups and stir-fried entrées. One dish worth trying is the Pad Kapao, made with onions, bell peppers, garlic, chili and Thai basil in a savory sauce and served with rice.
Many of the restaurant’s sauces are made fresh in-house, including its Pad Thai, sweet-and-sour and sweet chili sauces. Diners can also choose from popular dishes such as pho, cashew chicken, papaya salad, orange chicken and General Tso’s chicken.
Roi Et is named after Toi’s hometown in Thailand, a region known for its jasmine rice. With its relaxed atmosphere, extensive menu and authentic family recipes, the restaurant is a welcome addition to Bowling Green’s growing international dining scene.
Roi Et is located at 1616 E. Wooster Street, Suite 6. It is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and closed on Sundays during the summer season.
