Quenched & Tempered Brewing has entered an exciting new chapter, recently moving into a new location right next to Fifth Third Field in the heart of downtown Toledo. With an awesome taproom, a spacious patio, great food and an atmosphere that immediately makes you want to stay awhile, the brewery feels right at home in its new surroundings.

While the location is hard to beat, especially before or after a Toledo Mud Hens game, it is the people, beer and overall energy that make Quenched & Tempered worth visiting. From the welcoming staff to the wide variety of drinks and the lively yet comfortable setting, everything comes together to create one of downtown Toledo’s newest must-visit destinations.

That combination of great vibes, great people and a space built for enjoying good food and locally brewed beer is why Quenched & Tempered is our latest Toledo Dispatch Brewery of the Month.

Quenched & Tempered’s new downtown location feels like a major step forward for the brewery. The taproom is spacious, polished and thoughtfully designed, with plenty of seating and a huge bar that immediately becomes the centerpiece of the room.

What stood out most was the overall quality of the space. It feels clean, comfortable and well put together, giving the brewery a more elevated feel without losing the relaxed atmosphere that makes a taproom enjoyable.

The patio is another major highlight, especially on Mud Hens game days. Sitting just steps from Fifth Third Field, it is so close to the action that it feels like you could catch a foul ball. Even when there is not a game happening, the patio is still a great place to spend time with a group of friends or enjoy a quieter date.

Quenched & Tempered also has games available for visitors, adding another reason to settle in and stay awhile. Between the spacious taproom, massive bar, lively patio and range of seating options, the new location works just as well for a busy game day as it does for a laid-back afternoon or evening downtown.

The variety of beer at Quenched & Tempered was one of the biggest highlights of our visit. Instead of filling the tap list with several versions of the same style, the brewery offers a lineup that moves from light and traditional to tart, fruity and hop-forward.

We started with Fisticuffs!, a smooth and easy-drinking English mild ale. At just 3.8% ABV, it is a great choice for visitors who want something flavorful without being too heavy. Its clean finish and gentle carbonation give it the feel of a traditional beer you might find in an old English pub.

Kintsugi delivered a completely different experience. This sour cherry Japanese rice lager was vibrant, tart and refreshing, making it one of the most unique beers in the flight. It is an excellent option for anyone who enjoys fruit-forward or sour beers.

The Brazin’ Blonde was a full-bodied Belgian blonde that remained surprisingly light and easy to drink. At 7.5% ABV, it carries more strength than its smooth profile initially suggests, while its earthy bitterness and distinctive flavor help it stand out from a typical blonde ale.

Saison du Jour added another traditional European style to the tasting. Inspired by classic French farmhouse ales, it had a light, fluffy body with a peppery character that made it refreshing and different from everything else we sampled.

For IPA drinkers, Beach Glass was the boldest beer of the group. This hazy double IPA combines heavy tropical hops with mango and pineapple purée, creating a beer that is fruity, juicy and noticeably bitter. At 8.5% ABV, it is also one of the strongest selections we tried.

We finished with Fahrenheit 419, an American pale ale inspired by Toledo’s 419 area code and the color of steel heated during the tempering process. Its balance of fruity and floral hops, honey malt and smooth bitterness makes it one of the most approachable beers on the menu and a fitting representation of both the brewery and the city it calls home.

Although it was difficult to select one clear favorite, that speaks to the overall quality and range of the lineup. Each beer brought something completely different to the flight, making Quenched & Tempered a great destination for groups whose members may not all enjoy the same style of beer.

The food at Quenched & Tempered is another reason the brewery’s new location stands out. Rather than offering a menu that feels like an afterthought, the food helps make the taproom a destination for a complete afternoon or evening downtown.

We tried the Journeyman Wrap, which was filling, flavorful and easy to enjoy alongside a flight of beer. It is the kind of menu item that works equally well for a quick meal before a Mud Hens game or for settling in and spending a few hours at the brewery with friends.

For dessert, we ordered the hot cookie with ice cream, and it was the perfect way to finish the meal. The warm cookie paired with the cold ice cream created a simple but satisfying dessert that was easy to share—although you may want one for yourself.

Between the quality of the food, the variety of beer and the atmosphere of the new taproom, Quenched & Tempered offers much more than a traditional brewery experience. You can stop in for a drink, but the menu gives you plenty of reason to stay for a full meal.

Quenched & Tempered’s new downtown location feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the brewery. With a spacious and polished taproom, an incredible patio beside Fifth Third Field, a diverse beer lineup, quality food and a welcoming team, it has quickly become a place worth visiting whether you are heading to a Mud Hens game or simply looking for a great night out in downtown Toledo.

Quenched & Tempered is now officially part of the Toledo Dispatch Brewery of the Month Club and will also be included in the 2026 Toledo Bridge Guide, which will be released this December. Because the official guide does not come out until then, we will not reveal its bridge rating just yet.

For now, we are giving Quenched & Tempered an 8.5 out of 10. Its combination of atmosphere, location, beer variety, food and hospitality makes it one of the strongest additions to downtown Toledo and an easy brewery to recommend.
