Data Center Debate Gets Complicated

Ohio officials say foreign actors may be stirring the pot on social media around data center projects in the state. OpenAI confirmed it banned accounts likely tied to China that were pushing anti-data center content, though independent researchers say hard evidence of a coordinated campaign is still thin.

It's a reminder that even local infrastructure conversations can attract outside noise. Worth keeping an eye on as the discussion continues.

Community Spotlight

A Weekend Along the Water

The Glass City Riverwalk came alive this weekend with Watershed Weekend and the River Crossing Outdoor Expo. It's one of those stretches that quietly reminds us why living near the Maumee mattersβ€”open space, community energy, and a reason to get outside together.

Events like these turn the riverwalk into more than just a path. They make it a gathering place.

The Bridge Shines Again

For the first time in over a century, the Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge is lit up along the riverfront. It's more than just lightsβ€”it's a sign of what happens when people invest in Toledo's future.

Thanks to Susan Reams, Mosser Construction, and Foundation Steel for making this historic moment possible.

City Updates

Tire Mountain Appears on Dunloe Court

A vacant home on Dunloe Court became the surprise destination for hundreds of semi-truck tires this week, leaving neighbors startled and concerned. Witnesses say three men in a black pickup unloaded the massive pile Tuesday morning.

Resident Bernice Christopher has already contacted the homeowner and filed a report with Engage Toledo. The main worry now is fire risk and rodents before the tires can be removed.
